Practical roofing tools / Colorado project planning

Useful numbers.
Clearer assumptions.

Work through roof quantities and organize a commercial bid. These tools run in your browser; download the results without submitting your contact information.

Roof quantity worksheet

Make the math visible.

Enter measured sloping surface area, or a roof plane’s horizontal projected area and slope. Add separate areas when the slope or measurement basis changes.

Roof area 1

Pitch is already included in measured surface area. No slope factor is added.

Planning arithmetic, not a complete material order or a price. Starter, hip and ridge, underlayment, fasteners, flashings, attachment and detail quantities are separate. Verify the actual product, layout and field conditions.

A stronger scope review.

Use this project check as a starting point, then add the requirements in the actual bid documents.

Have a written unit price?

Turn a quoted rate into a working budget.

Use measured roof area with the unit price in your quote. Keep installed work, separately contracted labor and extra scope distinct; download the result with the assumptions and missing amounts visible.

Know what the calculation includes.

Surface area is converted to roofing squares at 100 square feet per square. A geometric slope factor is applied only when you select horizontal projected area. Your ordering allowance is shown separately, and whole bundles are rounded up using the product coverage you enter.

Roofing products, packaging, assembly details and project requirements differ. A quantity worksheet does not select a roof system, establish roof condition, determine permit requirements or replace a complete takeoff.
