A new seamless gutter system needs a measured, written project quote. Gutter size, length, outlets, attachments, access and related repairs determine the complete scope. This guide was updated October 2, 2026.
The advertised $8 and $11 per-foot prices are for micro-mesh gutter guards and installation, not for new seamless gutters. Five-inch guards cost $8 per foot; six-inch guards cost $11 per foot. See the gutter-guard calculator for those examples.
Your written quote confirms measured footage, materials, installation, outlets, removal, access, repairs and any applicable charges before you approve the work.
Which size fits your roof?
The right gutter size depends on roof area, pitch, concentrated runoff and outlet layout. We check those conditions on-site before recommending 5-inch or 6-inch gutters. A larger trough alone may not solve an outlet restriction or an attachment problem.
Tell us where water spills over, whether it happens during heavy rain or smaller storms, and whether a downspout has detached or backed up. That helps distinguish cleaning, gutter repairs, downspout work and a new system.
What belongs in your written gutter quote?
Ask for measured length and gutter size first. Then establish which materials, colors, profiles and installation methods are included. Check outlet and downspout count, old-gutter removal, disposal and access requirements. Ask whether sound fascia is available for attachment or whether fascia repairs need a separate line.
Compare these items before comparing the final price:
- Measured linear footage and the roof edges covered
- 5-inch or 6-inch profile, material and selected color
- Installation, attachment method and planned outlets
- Downspout size, number and discharge location
- Removal, disposal and cleanup where applicable
- Additional access work, repairs and applicable charges
- Payment terms, maintenance and written warranty coverage
Keep a copy of the complete scope. A quote for different footage or a different gutter system does not establish savings on the same work.
Gutter guards are a separate product
Peak Elevation's micro-mesh guards cost $8 per foot for 5-inch gutters and $11 per foot for 6-inch gutters, including guard materials and installation. For 150 feet, the guard calculations are $1,200 and $1,650 respectively. These rates cover micro-mesh guard materials and installation, not new gutters. Measured footage, gutter size and condition, access and any additional work or applicable charges are confirmed in a written quote before approval.

Repair, clean or replace?
Debris in otherwise sound gutters may call for cleaning rather than replacement. A loose hanger or localized leaking seam can call for a repair. Widespread corrosion, poor attachments or insufficient drainage capacity may justify a new system after inspection.
